Barrowland
A popular choice for bands as well as punters, the Barrowland is as much a part of Glasgow as Rangers and Celtic, or that fabled deep fried Mars Bar that no-one actually seems to eat. Come with a friend though, as the walk over from the city centre is a little hairy. No stranger to being voted one of the best venues in the UK, the springy floor has the potential to be as lively as Danny Boyle on Oscar night. It's a little scummy and a bit Slumdog, but for a true gig going experience, it strikes gold.
