Savoy Shopping Centre
Yuck. Full of dodgy looking stock and even dodgier looking people, although if you need sports socks for under a quid it's great. There are cafés, bakeries, Chinese restaurants and the usual crap to keep your guts full and your head sufficiently fuggy to bear the vast array of shoddy merchandise. On the plus side, there's a Primark and a TK Maxx to stock up on budget fashion buys. It's also open every day of the week. If you ever wander in here in a moment of madness, we suggest legging it before it gets dark and you end up in the Savoy discothéque, drinking WKD and being hit on by someone's 'funny' uncle.

26 Mar 2009I work in the savoy centre - not open every day of the week, only Monday to Saturday. Mon to Wed closing time is 5.30, not 6. And it may not be the best of places to shop, but you can guarantee a friendly atmosphere, a smile, and a bunch of people always up for a laugh. Several of the traders have actually been in the centre since it was established, and there are only a couple of places selling less than useful stuff. Perhaps actually visit the centre and make your own mind up, you might find something you really like.

19 Oct 2010If you do wander into this shopping centre you will be sure to find whatever it your looking for. There is a large variety of shops. You'll also find a lot of Glaswegians who have started up their own business instead of staying at home and claiming benefits. Its all good quality stuff from good quality people at low prices. Take and look and judge for yourself.

12 Feb 2010Actually, if you venture upstairs, you will find a real little gem of a jewellery shop, where the girl makes beautiful Swarovski rings while you wait for under £20. She has Sterling Silver at really low prices too. George, the hunky cobbler and Norry who will alter your clothes. Take the time to hve a look,...You won;t find any snobs in the Centre, just lovely, hardworking people who put in more than 50 hours a week. Support them if you can.

16 Oct 2011I found the best sliced sausage and crusty rolls in the savour. Sure, it doesn't look much but its a great place. Damn critics eh! Wouldn't see real quality past all the snobbery.
