West End

All the cool kids, families, couples and eccentric old ladies live here. It's the kind of place where you can actually make eye contact with strangers without getting chased by an angry girl who thinks you're giving her evils. In fact, people may even smile at you. Sure, it's unnerving at first, but then you realise it's nice seeing friendly people. Its shops are mainly independent, funky places, lots of coffee house and cool bars and Ashton Lane is the definitive street for a pub crawl. It has a bohemian vibe (all together now: Truth! Beauty! Freedom! Love!) which puts all the other shopping areas to shame and unlike Sauchiehall Street you'd sell your granny (and a fair few other expendable relatives if we're talking about that) to live here.
