Coffee Merchant

At first, we thought the name Coffee Merchant was a pretentious way of saying it's a shop that sells coffee, but then we realised it's an ever–so–clever play on words –you see, it's in Merchant City. Its position on the corner of Candleriggs means it sees a fair share of passing trade, which mainly consists of crossword–loving thirty and forty–somethings. Which also means it's well looked after, so the sofas have yet to be dented by massive backsides and cigarette burns. But our favourite thing about it is the espresso –strong enough to take the skin of a rhino's arse.
