Bargo

Bargo is pretty much the only bar in the Merchant City area that seems in any way to be aimed at students. That said, it's not half as grubby as most such premises and half the folk that drink here are stunning. Cheap for the area. Crazy balcony-walkway to reach the toilet. Come to think of it, it's really rather good.
