Waxy O'Connors

No city would be complete without an Irish bar full of fake accents and not–entirely authentic Gaelic charm. Waxy's is a good size, though this does mean that after you've put away a pint or nine of 'cold coffee' the layout can get you slightly lost. Fear not though. Use the tree (yes, we mean tree) in the centre of the pub as a navigational tool and you'll be just fine. Located just next to Queen Street station, Waxy is an excellent place to grab a couple of jars of Guinness before jumping on the 3.20 to Inverness. Don't worry, you can sleep on the train.
