Ichiban (50 Queen Street, 0141 204 4200)is probably the most authentic Japanese restaurant we know. The food is outrageously good serving everything from sushi to good old noodle dishes and beyond.
Khublai Khan
(Candleriggs, 0141 552 5646)is a unique Mongolian barbeque where you decide what goes into your meal and watch it being cooked in front of you. For American fare, TGI Friday's (113 Buchanan St, G1 3HF, 0141 221 5857) will ensure your waistline expands at an alarming rate while you gradually feel the urge to wander around Disneyland in sandals and white socks.
La Patisserie Francoise, (138 Byres Road) will fulfill all your French pastry fantasies and if you fancy a bit of borsht, head to Café Cossachok (38 Albion Street, 0141 553 0733.
DrinkVodka Wodka (Ashton Lane, 0141 341 0669) and Stavka (373 Sauchiehall Street, 0141 332 1120) serves well, lots of different types of vodka and most boozers sell wine, and spirits from around the world. C'mon, it is still Glasgow after all.
Dance
Buffalo Joes (Hope Street, 0141 221 4141) encompasses the spirit of Wild West America. Well it's full of dodgy folk in cowboy hats and has a mechanical bull but we're sure that's authentic.
Salsa classes can be found at Tiger Tiger (20 Glassford Street, 0141 553 4888) and we've seen creatures doing what looks like the Indian Peacock mating dance in the Social (Royal Exchange Square, 0845 166 6016)
Out and About
The Glasgow Buddhist Centre (329 Sauchiehall St, 0141 333 0524) run courses in everything from Yoga to Taiji, St Mungo Museum of Religious Life and Art (2 Castle Street) has a Zen garden which restores you to an addictive equilibrium and symbolises the harmony between people and nature.
